SUCCESS vs HAPPINESS

A happy person always feels successful but a  successful person does not always feel happy.

There has been an eternal underlined debate between success and happiness. While The Gods we worship have always preached happiness for the soul, our history focuses on wars, unhappiness, bloodshed and negativity, in a pursuit of success.

Happiness  leads to feeling successful , as the soul is happy when it succeeds in feeling positive. But, a pursuit of success without focusing on being happy, leads to disillusionment and disease for the body and mind.

Success does not automatically lead to happiness. Your getting good grades in school or a high salary as adults does not ensure a peaceful, happy life, a healthy body, love or sexual satisfaction. Pursuing success is meaningless for the soul if you do not understand your soul lessons.

The soul incarnates in a human body to evolve in the physical dimension. To evolve, it has to rise to a higher positive energy frequency than it was before it entered the physical body. To become more positive, the soul has to realize happiness in its life on Earth. Only by feeling happy can the soul rise to feeling more positive. Happiness can be experienced in several ways but all roads to being more positive need to be pursued by overcoming negative emotions. Success can be a part of happiness but it is only one of the ingredients of being happy.

Success can also come by feeling negative more than positive. Hence, success, by itself, is not a measure of being positive. If a highly successful person is more negative than positive, then his soul devolves than evolve. Such a person becomes unhealthy, mentally stressed, anxious, diseased and negative in temperament. A life where the soul becomes more negative than positive is a waste of a life-time for the soul, as all its energies get wasted in achieving conventional success on Earth without feeling happy from within.

The soul which dies feeling helpless, diseased or betrayed, as is seen in past life therapy, feels unsuccessful at the point of death. It has to repeat a life with similar obstacles to be able to raise its soul frequency to positive again such that it ends its life with feeling powerful as a soul seeking positive peace, successful in terms of feeling in control, happy and stress free. A soul purpose is achieved when the soul can realize its dreams of inner happiness through its choices on Earth.

"Our traditional role models have been war heroes who killed others to survive themselves. It may be noted here that on a practical plane, our role models are not our Gods. That is because we worship Gods but we do not try to be them. We place Gods on a pedestal of superiority, miracles and sacrifice and we ask them for blessings and gifts; while we try to be like our mortal war heroes who acquired fame, power and money in their competitive pursuits.

But, there is no account of whether these warriors became happier by appropriating greater wealth or fame in external terms. Or whether the wars they fought helped people become more emotionally equipped to fight their internal traumas and evolve as souls?
The money which came from wars was usually used in fighting more wars, than in upliftment of human consciousness towards better management of survival needs.
Emotional betterment was left to chance as we looked for happiness outside the mind.  Is it possible to be unhappy, sad or craving for love within and find happiness outside by eating or drinking? Can just pleasing the body make us happy when we are life-force creative particles in our essence?  If being animal like was satisfying, why would we need to evolve towards creating happiness, as souls in a physical experience?

The ever increasing restlessness in societies, the rise in domestic violence, criminal tendencies, alcohol and drug addictions, medical bills and incurable diseases , prove that escaping the needs of soul evolution does not help. But we are conditioned into believing that the soul does not exist and that only earning money, fame or power matters in creating happiness.
Charles Darwin proposed the theory of Survival of the fittest for animals but human beings still operate on that principle by habit, because they feel they have to win by being above others in terms of money which essentially represents food and shelter.
The unconscious insecurity continues from the animal mind that for one to live, another has to die – be it physically, financially or emotionally. That is the basis of competitive thinking.

Yet, being competitive has not led the human race towards higher levels of happiness, peace or ethereal positivity. To be happy from within as souls, we need to discover our humaneness as distinct from our animal instincts.

Hence, we probably need to change the definitions of success which we glorify as part of our mental conditioning from childhood. Because of social pressures, we train ourselves to compete with others, to be what everyone else is and that whole mind-set makes us compromise on our needs of soul evolution.
At an internal level, there are pangs of having failed even when we feel externally successful because we fail to achieve that happiness, which we incarnate to achieve as souls.

Changing our core thinking to positive is not easy because we become habitual to sacrificing our soul needs to be happy , presuming happiness to be a compromise as defined by traditional doctrines. Yet each time we compromise because of fear of not having in the future, we focus on the negative aspects of life.

Initially redirecting our thinking feels like relearning the alphabet .But at some point, we need to realize that we cannot continue with the negative ways of thinking simply because we are conditioned into them! Our method of coping up has not helped us since centuries of trial and error in finding the happiness we seek through our efforts.
That we have achieved a state of balance being the way we are, does not mean that we are in an optimum state of balance. Since we feel more helpless, anxious and sick than healthy, happy and at peace on an average, it means that we are balancing ourselves in a non-optimal, negative state of being.

Generally, it is owing to beliefs embedded in mass consciousness and stored in the subconscious levels of our minds that we tend to get misdirected. These beliefs overrule our individual sensibilities about what constitutes happiness.

This book aims to spread the soul’s concept of happiness by facilitating an understanding about what happiness means for each soul self, as contrasted with traditionally held mass beliefs of what happiness should mean.
By making attempts to know that which specifically resonates with our individual sensibilities, and contrasting it with the values conventional thinking and mass culture hold to be true, we arrive at the dynamics of an underlying internal language influencing our perceptions and expectations as contrasted with an externally imposed language.
The intention is to develop awareness of the inner workings of the soul mind so that it can help us remain positively expectant through the ups and downs of life." ...................................excerpt... chapter 1

By pursuing success, as generally defined by society, we cannot find happiness. Everything that we do in life is to be happy, finally, be it getting god grades in class or earning good money as adults or becoming powerful and famous. But, if we do not realize happiness with our efforts, it means that our methods of attaining happiness are mis-directed.
We allow a negative mass consciousness to influence our decisions than develop our own ability as co-creators of the universe. We need to be taught in schools how to create the life we desire by controlling our thinking rather than by learning by rote what other people have thought. The need is more to develop an understanding of cause and effect relationships between the way we feel on a day to day basis and the way our life unfolds.

“The Law of Creation states that whichever feeling the soul focuses upon mentally, it mobilizes energy to create the same feeling at the level of physical experience.
The Law, essentially, illustrates the theory of cause and effect in the process of creation. As seeds grow to bear flowers, thoughts grow to create reality.” – Excerpt chapter 7 -
CREATION OF HAPPINESS: THE ENERGY WAR, a soul’s perspective

Everything that we feel manifests in our life in increasing gradation. Al our experiences manifest such that the energies we feel today become stronger in the future. So, if we feel negative today, we feel more negative in the future whereas if we feel positive today, we feel happier on the future. The soul, our Higher Self or God are all ENERGY BEINGS and they only perceive energy exchanges or karmic exchanges.
Our soul does not recognize the physical, external reality, right or wrong definitions of social ethics or the pretense of fake happiness as it only reads how we feel within. Only our intentions behind actions are recorded at the karmic level and happiness comes when our intentions are positive. If we feel negative for creating a positive image, the negativity is our reality for the soul, not the image we offer to the world. The energy we radiate spreads into mass consciousness & influences others as well, more than our actions. This is the subtle, underlying truth of reality which we need to understand to be happy, healthy and peaceful in life.

As is given in the book IN SEARCH OF HAPPINESS:

The Purpose of a Life on Earth
In each life on Earth, we, as souls, plan to achieve a specific purpose. The purpose of life involves focusing energies on creating a particular kind of physical reality, which would help us attain happiness in that life.
Different souls have different life purposes and they are born with a skill set necessary to attain that purpose. For example, one person may have a desire to be a dancer while another may desire to be an engineer. In the process of the pursuit of these desires, the soul moves towards attaining its life purpose.
To attain this purpose, we make a life-plan, at the soul level before incarnating on Earth. All the steps on this plan are designed to lead us to attaining the level of emotional training required to achieve the life purpose.
The steps are coded at an energy level and they keep motivating us to pursue certain instincts over others. Through successfully making choices which help us feel happy/positive from within while manifesting our external desires; we can evolve to achieving our life purpose. The path towards achieving the life purpose is difficult but is accompanied with a high quality of emotional satisfaction.

Since the soul is a unit of life force energy, it understands its reality in energy terms and not in physical or tangible terms.
From our soul’s perspective, the praise, money, respect, success or power we seek to gain through our efforts on Earth, are emotional experiences. The soul feels positive or negative through these external experiences but does not perceive them directly, physically. It only reads these external aspects of life from an internal emotional scale.

The individual life purpose, therefore, is a unique emotional experience that the soul seeks to accomplish during that specific journey on Earth.  For an individual, incarnating, little soul, this purpose is the main reason for being born.

This individual purpose is also connected to a purpose for the world, i.e., for the planet Earth, as a whole.
In other words, when the soul seeks to raise its individual energy frequency to positive during the process of evolution on Earth, it also has to ensure that the planet’s energies also become more positive, through the work it does.

Negative energies, which come in the form of negative emotions such as fear or doubt, act as obstacles in achieving happiness while pursuing the soul’s purpose of life.
These fears and doubts aim to divert the soul away from the life purpose into a meaningless pursuit of success or power which cannot lead to any feelings of emotional peace or happiness for the soul.
For example, in the case-history given, you would read that the soul’s main purpose of incarnation was to experience becoming powerful for helping the weak and oppressed achieve justice.
We find that the soul repeatedly becomes powerful, over life-times, but fails to use that power to achieve justice for the weak and oppressed. To establish justice, the soul has to overcome the pull of negative energies like greed, selfishness, anger, revenge, impatience, helplessness, starvation etc. which prevent him from spreading justice for the weak. --- Excerpt from Chapter 1—Basic Concepts of soul evolution

Happine ss necessitates that we break the definitions of success traditionally conditioned into us, which make us more helpless than peaceful with the choices we make in life. We need to pursue success to be happy and happiness can come in only when we can overcome our negative feelings through emotional management.

As souls, we are co-creators, part of The Creator. Literally, we come on Earth to manifest our dreams of happiness, as defoned by the soul..We need to pursue our desires to be happy but we need to redefine desires such that they lead us to feeling happy within ourselves and not have desires defined by others. We cannot be happy if our goal is only to prove our self worth to a world which is dominated by a negative mass consciousness as a focus on the negative will only create more sadness in our life, overtime,. Our soul seeks to evolve consciousness so that we evolve to a happier way of being. The more we can clean our energy and learn to be happy, success will follow in ways that our inner happiness multiplies. The techniques by which we can release our negative thinking and pursue a self healing road to happiness are given in the book
