CREATION OF REALITY - POSITIVE > ZERO >NEGATIVE STATES OF MIND

When you are happy, you cannot be sad
When you are detached, you can fly overhead
why spoil your head over another's mistakes
It is necessary to be happy to get work done well

As Souls, we create our own world. Each soul’s world is a crystal of its own imagination.whatever happens to us in the outside world is a manifestation of what happens to us, in our own imagination.

Imagination changes into reality through energy transfer felt repeatedly. Energies are created whenever we feel. Each time we feel something , reality gets motivated in that direction. Our feelings keep repeating in our lives.
If we feel the same way over a long period, our reality manifests such that the same feelings get multiplied. So, if we feel happy now, we feel happier in the future. On the other hand, if we focus on problems now, we increase our problems in the future.
Staying detached is better than staying negative.
If we stay neutral or detached, we are non- negative. Hence, we don’t fall in poverty or sickness as we do when we are negative. Also, from a state of detachment,  we can move into a positive state as ZERO IS CLOSER TO PLUS than MINUS mathematically. Creation on Earth happens through quantum physics in operation.

This Excerpt on SELF HELP explains , in detail :

( from the book CREATION OF HAPPINESS: THE ENERGY WAR, a soul's perspective)

The ‘-‘,’0’,’+’ factor: Usefulness of maintaining thoughtless states

Initially, we are in a negative loop when we start the given processes of mastering consciousness and developing mind control for expecting a positive reality.

To take an analogy – Being in a negative loop means that our car has been going in the wrong direction and we have suddenly discovered that we are lost. We, hence, need to change our direction to be able to reach our destination. The first step would be to apply the brake, so that we do not continue going wrong. Only after braking, can we reverse the direction of the car.

Similarly, when we are focused on the negative, we are creating a negative reality for ourselves at the emotional level or soul level. The first step to stop reinforcing that negative reality, which is already created, is to put a brake on our flow of thoughts. Only by applying the brake can we stop the flow of further energy to that reality which causes us so much pain or anguish.

We can put a brake on our thoughts by becoming thoughtless. Only after becoming thoughtless, can we turn our focus towards the positive.

Explaining symbolically, if we imagine energy current in our mind and body to be flowing in a straight line graph, then, positive would be the plus position, negative would be the minus position and zero would be the neutral or thoughtless position.

As you can see, being in a thoughtless state or zero position is better than being in a minus position, because zero is closer to the positive vibrations, than the minus or negative is. That is why often solutions come only after we let go.

When we are neutral or detached from an outcome, we are at a higher state of vibration than when we are negative or worrying. That is simply because when we are thoughtless, we are in a state of not worrying. Hence, we are in a position to energize a positive energy mobilization with clear focus.

When the graph of our energy dips downward, we are at the minus position. In the minus position, we are focused on negative feelings. The energy which gets created through negative feelings moves in a negative direction. Thus, when we are in a negative loop we, subconsciously, mobilize energy towards creating a negative reality, which is opposite of the positive reality which we desire.

When this graph moves upwards, we are in a state of positive vibration. Our feelings of happiness and well-being, rise in this position.

Why is being thoughtless important to bring about an energy shift?

Zero is the position of absolute peace, stillness of the mind. It comes between + and -. Hence, being neutral is an essential phase of transition, whenever one moves or desires to move from a negative state to a positive state of mind. In other words, a positive state of mind cannot be achieved unless the person succeeds in achieving neutral states of mind.

From the energy perspective, when energy flows strongly in a negative loop, the only way to break the circuit is to stop the flow of energy in that direction by not thinking. Once the energy current stops flowing in the direction it has been flowing in, it can be made to flow in a different direction. But, if one attempts to shift the energy flow to a different direction while the current is strong, one would fail because it is almost impossible to do so.

Most attempts to shift to positive thinking fail when people try to think positive while feeling negative. The only way to shift to positive thinking is to first learn to stay neutral or thoughtless.  Positive visualizations work only when the mind is free of dominating negative energies.

The mind has to be kept neutral whenever one is free and has nothing to think about. If the mind is not deliberately kept thoughtless, it drifts into thinking negative very soon because the mass consciousness pulls it down.
Mass consciousness viz. the sea current, in these times, is predominantly negative. Once the mind is allowed to focus on negative feelings, the negative currents take hold again and all attempts at positive thinking collapse.
The person feels he is drowning again because he gets too tired trying to swim against the current. However, drowning in a negative whirlpool of thoughts cannot help in achieving happiness.

To create happiness in our future, we need to follow up being thoughtless by shifting the mind deliberately to focus on positive feelings, in the present.

On achieving the neutral/thoughtless state for a few moments or seconds, the mind can be smoothly glided to creating positive visualizations/ imaginary films. Since the negative flow stops, energy can flow freely for feeling positive during visualizations, without continuously being obstructed by doubts, fears and other negative vibrations.

General techniques of being thoughtless

The state of being thoughtless means that we focus on a single energy movement. We can choose any energy movement to become thoughtless.  We can focus on the clock ticking or on our breathing going in and out or on hearing the tap trickling water or on listening to a musical note or on doing any kind of chanting meditation - anything which stops the existing thought flow and shifts our focus away from worrying,  helps.

However, being thoughtless is not possible while we are impatient or anxious because that means we continue to energize focus on the negative energy. Negative feelings (like doubting our intuition about a positive outcome) cause energy to move in opposite directions and prevent the positive from manifesting.

Below are given some exercises to develop thoughtless, positive states:

Exercise 1- Start your day with a positive note

1.      Start the day with this process of feeling positive, because the first feeling you would get into, in the morning, would keep coming back to you through the day.
2.       Begin the process as soon as you open your eyes in bed when you are still drowsy. You may keep your eyes open or closed
3.      Feel relaxed as you lie down on your bed or wherever you are comfortable.
4.      Then, imagine yourself in the clouds. Feel a shower of energy filling you up. As if you are taking a bath in water at an energy level. Feel energy entering from your crown and filling your body with light, and feel negative energy leaving you like dirty water as this energy fills you. Then, feel yourself going deep into Earth and coming back inside your body and focus on your body filling with Light.
5.       Next, think of a happy feeling, like looking at a beautiful flower or hearing a soothing note or any memory you have of being happy; or focus on how you would, literally, feel when your desired future manifests.
6.      Or just let go of all your worries for a few seconds, and instead focus only on the soothing light flowing through your whole body. Feel the light touching your toes and fingertips, your spine and stomach, your neck, face, hair and so on. Feel yourself filling your whole body with light at one go , as if you are a body made of light.
7.      Stay in the light happy feeling for a few seconds and then allow your mind to quieten and focus on being thoughtless. This happy feeling causes a positive energy flow in your body. Still your mind or feel your breath moving in and out with this positive energy.
8.      Try to stay thoughtless for another few seconds or minutes.
9.      Towards the end, before getting up, just imagine how you would like to feel through the day, and the feeling you would like to be at the end of the day, that is, at the time of reflection when you go to bed at night. Imagine that you are feeling satisfied or loved or relaxed at the end of the day.
10.  Inhale deeply while thinking of the last feeling, thus inhaling the feeling within you, and feel sure that this feeling would come true at night. Let all your reservations go to the wind for just one second.
11.  Now, get a smile on your face. Smile for a few seconds with focus on your stomach as if you are smiling in your stomach. Feel the smile even if it is forced. Feel being happy and thank the universe or the God you believe in or your own Higher Self. Then, start your day. The positive energy with multiply with consistent focus.

Be patient with yourself if the day does not go instantly as you planned. Results will take time, especially if your negative vibrations are too strong. Also, the results would first start manifesting at the level of feelings.
You would slowly start feeling good more often, if you practice feeling good early morning as an exercise. Overtime, your feeling good would manifest on the physical plane, and your external reality would shift in alignment with your inner focus.
If positive solutions take time, it is better to stay thoughtless as much as possible, and wait with patience, rather than worry about why the outcome is not happening or how or when it would come.

When we begin the process, it may be difficult to stay thoughtless even for a second, but over a period of time, which may vary from days to months to years we can acquire the habit of staying thoughtless for hours together. Usually, a few minutes every morning are enough to break negative energy circuits, overtime.

HOW SCHOOLING CAN HARM DEVELOPMENT IN ADULTHOOD

Schools are the norm in today’s world. With the coming of the Industrial revolution and parents being required as work force, children started being sent to mass education programmes which were convenient alternate homes while the parents worked.

However, though schools were advertised and promoted as a boost to children’s development, paving the way top their success and happiness, we find that the adults which emerged were successful but unhappy. Since the beginning g of the twentieth century, diseases and stress related disorders increased.
Mass schooling, a lack of attention to individual expression, and competitive performance made children into performing machines, with their soul needs being grossly negated.
The little children souls felt trapped in institutions like armies where they had to obey more than think, compete more than enjoy and perform to get love which was their natural birthright.
While the souls were negated, children were brainwashed into thinking that the schools are the best institutions for their development. They were taught that compromise in school, with teachers, and the mass education system was the best hope for happiness which they had.
Compromise, by its very definition, breeds negativity. We compromise when we are not happy. So, essentially, instead of learning to redefine happiness in ways where they could express their unique potentials, children were asked to fit in mass defined norms like computer tablets.

Rarely could schools cater to children’s needs for emotional development. The stress was son science or maths, learning facts more than learning their application. Children need to be taught skills to cope up with stress in adult lives but instead they were conditioned into negating their emotional needs.
Negative emotions when unaddressed keep releasing negative hormones in the body like poisonous acid in the bloodstream, which leads to stress related disorders like asthma, diabetes or cancer. So, a major reason for increasing diseases and hospital bills in the twentieth century can be grossly attributed to schools paying no attention to the children’s emotional needs where their soul purposes were addressed.

As is explained in the book IN SEARCH OF HAPPINESS- HOW PAST LINES AFFECT THE PRESENT LIFE

Schooling is a base structure of our society. It lays foundations for adult lives. But, a teacher is usually, unable, to help kids develop coping skills for the emotional demands of adulthood.
We rarely use more than 30% of the theoretical concepts  we study in schools in our professional lives but we use up a good deal of  our precious founding years learning subject details which would not be relevant to us when we grow up and enter jobs or businesses.

How many of us need to know how fractions and trigonometry sums are solved or the distance of the Sun from the Earth in exact units or the type of algae that grow in water? Why is it relevant to teach all this when more important emotional learning skills need to be inculcated?

Instead of spending hours on lecturing about traditional subjects, concepts like stress management, love for fellow humans, understanding inner talents etc. can be practically taught which would help kids create positivity in their lives?

Most schools almost run like armies. Pupils are expected to obey authority without questioning it. The slow method of teaching a mass class causes frustration in several students who process information quicker than others. The need to develop patience to sit in a class-room often feels unnecessary especially to the brighter students. When forced upon, it may lead to violence among students who are otherwise, traumatized by having to study subjects they hardly find meaningful. Ritual is given priority over reason since the need to study becomes a ritualistic tradition than the need of the hour for the little, evolving minds.

Students and teachers are encouraged to blindly follow the Dinosauric institution of schooling, even if it spreads more negative than positive, growth oriented energy.
Instead, if students could learn from the beginning an open-ended syllabus which would also help them meet their soul needs, along with studying what is required to achieve external success, then their attitude towards learning would automatically become more positive.

Human mind conditioning and its impact on development of diseases and traumas in life has been discussed in more detail in the book CREATION OF HAPPINESS: THE ENERGY WAR, a soul’s perspective:

An excerpt from the book:

Our schooling makes us focus on the world outside rather than on our soul selves. We feel negativity in the external world, and feel driven towards attaining happiness. But, we do not realize that we create the negativity, ourselves, due to our misguided internal negative focus.
Competition instils fear of losing in us. This fear gets ingrained in us from childhood, since we are taught to learn and improve by using competition as the driving force.
Our schools follow a general definition of perfection. They instil in us the belief that if we don’t follow this general definition, we lose grades and respect and that subsequently, in adult life, we will lose out in the rat race.

In our schooling systems, we are usually not trained into visualizing beforehand, the material success which we would get from doing the work which gives us emotional satisfaction; neither are we trained in waiting for positive visualizations to manifest. In our hurry to achieve short-term goals, we lose out on goals which can help us evolve from the eternal perspective.

We often choose to invite stress, disease and worries to clear the next immediate exam of school, and later, the next big challenge of a job rather than pursue our creative talents. We force ourselves to ignore our soul needs which demand that work pays respect but also gives peace of mind.

We give in to fear that we may be wrong in pursuing happiness, than give up on competition which wrongly defines happiness in material terms only. Thus, stress and tension spread like an epidemic. The negative energies rise because we believe we need them to survive.

Due to the emphasis on competition, as a race we get governed by fear - fear of failure, fear of disapproval, fear of survival, fear of rejection, fear of abuse etc., which makes our choices in life negatively tilted. The more we focus on fear while making choices, the more we get trapped in the energy of fear.

There is an almost complete lack of understanding of cause and effect relationships between thought and reality.  People rarely attribute problems in their lives to their own negative thinking. Instead, they keep looking for external causes and seeking to solve or overcome them. Yet, the problems keep increasing in one form or another owing to a consistently negative thinking process developed in schooling years. Our competitive education systems train us to focus on negativity on ‘what is missing’, as a way of life.

HOW SCHOOLS CAN SPREAD PEACE AND HAPPINESS ON THE PLANET BY INCORPORATING SOUL PLANS IN EVERYDAY EDUCATION
In our school systems, developing individual talents and emotional maturity needs to be given a priority through a more comprehensive education system. Each person comes into Earth with a specific professional plan which helps him/her achieve his soul’s purpose. Practical methods of finding individual soul plans through using techniques of emotional management need to be introduced so that studying leads to a sense of fulfilment and happiness in the student.

Also, teaching children the spiritual Laws of Creation and Repetition which govern our ability to create happiness in our adult lives, helping children develop intuition for understanding and connecting to their innate soul needs, and rewarding practices like sharing, compassion and expressing creativity instead of rewarding performances in competitive sports or academics; is necessary to help students find learning and working meaningful.
Developing practices which train students in positive thinking skills help them cope up positively with stress in their adult lives. The focus needs to be on happiness, not success so as to train students to create happiness with the efforts they put in for material success.

SCHOOLS CAN HELP SPREAD PEACE, END WARS BY PRACTICAL TEACHING ON BEING PEACEFUL AND CO-OPERATIVE IN INTERACTIONS
It is not possible to spread peace by simply preaching about peace. The preaching has to be applied in everyday life, such that people’s thinking changes from the core.
Our core thinking patterns are set by our early education. It is the thoughts our minds get conditioned into before we are seven years of age, which set the foundation for how we evolve as adults. When we are children, we do not argue back on the rules of life taught to us. Therefore, the early teaching affects our subconscious minds the most as we are like sponges then, ready to absorb all that which is fed.
Hence, to spread peace on the planet, Peace has to be taught in schools as a practical subject like sports or painting.
Instead of focusing on teaching English or Maths or Painting or Skating, it is necessary to teach children how to share with each other, how to enjoy helping, how to express love and compassion, how to create what they desire by focusing on thinking the right way and how to use energies of music or painting or dancing or games to feel good internally, than perform externally. The grades need to be given for creativity, joy and compassion rather than for rote learning or imitating well.
Education should be more fun for the students than stress. The learning needs to be automatically imbibed, than forcibly inculcated.
If children are force to compromise from the beginning, they will develop negative thinking habits. They have to be encouraged to enjoy learning by making education flexible and convenient.

It is only when our minds are free to create, that we will evolve above being humans like monkeys, running after bananas to being humans like Gods who fly freely in bliss.

To live on a peace loving planet, we have to love peace in our everyday life. We cannot keep fighting with our inner selves and expect peace to radiate from our beings.
At a mass consciousness level, our mind’s focus needs to be on the energy of how it will be when peace exists rather than on worrying that peace does not exist. The more we worry about riots and terrorism, the more we energize these negative manifestations of restless minds on the planet. When we deliberately focus on feeling peaceful within, ignoring http://www.homeshop18.com/swati%20shiv/search:swati%20shiv a restless external reality, we will energize the spread of peace on Earth.

DANCING CAN BE USED TO TEACH MEDITATION

Dancing creates energy shifts in the body
energy centres move with vibrations of energy
Chakras or energy centres propel soul energy
Dancing combined with meditation can revolutionize mass consciousness if applied intentionally

Traditional schooling has its side effects of suppressing children.
Schools are based on the army principle. Children have to obey without protesting. Very rarely, are they given opportunity to their free soul selves.

Most of the children feel trapped in games of competition, performance, peer pressure, parent’s demands and their own needs to be successful.

Children need love to feel happy. However, our society teaches them that they have to feel successful in some kind of performing acts to be loved. When children cannot perform in activities they don’t like, they feel ordinary, incompetent and lost in a crowd.

Dancing and meditation in combination can give the children the much needed feathers; they need to feel themselves free as souls.

Dancing connects the soul to the body. Usually, dancing is accompanied by rhythmic music and the music evokes the depths of the soul. Also, dancing adds lively heartbeats to ordinary existence. It makes children feel special, energetic and, loved as it activates the soul within if done passionately with breathing deep. For the period of dance, the body moves in rhythm. It gives beauty and grace to movement unlike sports which is harsh by design.

While sports tends to be competitive and can force kids to fight against each other to perform the best, dancing and exercising can be done individually without any competition . Dancing exercises are fun for some people than acrobatics..

Dancing can also be used by shy students to feel glamorous and a part of the crowd. Dancing evokes the same hormones as passion and hence, helps quench sexual desires in adolescents.

Meditation after dancing or before dancing helps calm the mind to focus. The meditative exercises like Breathing exercices, Staying thoughtless in silence, chanting OM, Tai Chi or Pranayama help the child focus on his breathing and his inner life force. When accompanied with dancing, they balance the slow mind and the fast mind, the slow breath and fast breath so that the soul and body feel good.

Like dancing evokes the soul in the  body, meditation evokes the mind- body- soul connection. Meditation can be accompanied with positive visualization and day dreaming techniques which help the students widen their imagination. Focusing on making happy stories in the mind would help the students practice the art of creation which they can apply in their everyday lives.

For example students can be taught to imagine they are flying in the skies with complete freedom, swimming like fishes, eating good foods and enjoying or dancing in the mind. Focusing on relaxing feelings like these even for a few minutes, helps calm an agitated mind.

All the visualizations the students focus on in their mind manifest on the physical plane at the level of feelings. So, if they imagine they are flying, they may achieve some good scores in academics or sports or their peer games which makes them feel as if they are flying in air. All positive visualization have positive effects.

Visualizing dancing steps or sports activities mentally before practising it helps the students perform much better in reality than otherwise.

Dancing and positive visualization meditation are successful only when they are accompanied with feelings. They have to be practiced with passion and not as a chore. Also they have to be practised with minimum disapproving control so that the students feel free to be completely themselves for those durations of day dreaming or dancing.

It is the feeling of freedom which helps the soul perform its best, spread its wings and reach the highest levels of happiness with success.
Also, medically, dancing would help reduce depression the same way as brisk walks and deep breathing do.  Dancing and, meditations would prevent the need for addictions like alcohol and drugs if they are used wisely to burn tension.

The book CREATION OF HAPPINESS: THE ENERGY WAR, a soul’s perspective - offers approaching happiness ion a way which gives sure results. Happiness is achieved by thinking in a way which leads to positivity  and frees the body from stress, Diseases and anxieties.

The following is an excerpt from Chapter 5 – BREATHING FOR THE SOUL

Section 2-The connection between our breathing and feeling

Since soul vibrations impact the physical body, our breathing is directly affected by our feelings.
In stress or anxiety, we breathe faster. When we feel emotionally exhausted and have no more desire to live, our breathing is slow.

Whenever our breathing is rapid or shallow, it is not normal. Abnormal or irregular breathing reflects a state of disequilibrium in the body and a state of unrest in the subconscious mind.
This happens because the subconscious mind reads life through metaphors or signals. It does not access the external reality directly except through the electric impulses generated in response to external changes.
For example, when we are in danger, we panic in anxiety. In panic and anxiety, we tend to breathe fast. So, if we breathe fast even if there is no visible situation causing the panic, the subconscious mind would assume there is danger around just because we are breathing fast

In hyper tension, or intense anxiety we breathe fast even if our panic is purely mental and there is no physical danger present. Being anxious leads to breathing fast. Stress and anxiety are metaphorically  programmed signals to the subconscious mind that the person is in danger.
In response to the danger which may not be there at all except in our imagination, the subconscious mind activates the person’s sympathetic nervous system with the positive intention of  helping the body cope up with actual physical danger.
The body makes changes in all its mechanisms to cope with the emergency situation, it assumes exists behind anxiety. As a result of these changes, rise of blood pressure, heart rate, dizziness, breathlessness etc. may accompany intense anxiety as experienced during a real danger situation.
In actual danger, these body mechanisms would help us think and act fast but if there is no real panic, these body mechanisms only make us feel exhausted and more restless.

Similarly, slow breathing signals to the soul mind that the person is depressed.
In actual life, we breathe slowly when we are physically sick or dying. But, if we breathe slowly even if we are not dying, the subconscious mind assumes a death-like situation and reduces motor activity in response to the externally perceived reality.
Hence, in depression, we feel lazy, sleepy, unmotivated, pessimistic, tired etc., as if we were physically sick even though we are not.
Both states are activated due to emotional stress. We are in panic, or anxiety, when we feel we are emotionally in danger of getting hurt .Likewise, we feel we are depressed or life-less when something emotionally traumatic or disappointing happens in our lives. Both anxiety and depression are negative states of being which lower soul vibrations.
Stress hormones are released constantly by the subconscious mind in response to irregular breathing which cause the body to remain in a state of stress.
In case of actual physical hurt, the body would restore to its normal functioning once the hurt is healed. But, during emotional hurt, the body does not get back to its normal functioning. This is because emotional hurts do not get healed as physical hurts do. Since there is no external, physical evidence of hurt, we tend to ignore the hurt rather than change our mind-set to facilitate the different approach of healing it needs.

Emotions continue to hurt as long as the person does not transcend the negative energy created by feeling negative into neutral or positive energy.
Till emotions hurt, the soul’s vibrational frequency remains low and energy does not flow smoothly in the body. The body does not restore to its normal functioning as negative hormones keep getting released because the emotional wound keeps troubling the mind off and on.

Metaphorically, just as a physical wound cannot be ignored, negative feelings cannot be suppressed. The physical wound remains raw till a new skin comes over it. Or it develops a septic if neglected.
Similarly, if the emotional hurt does not get healed, it forms a kind of septic in the mind. The unhealed negative energy wound keeps poisoning the body like the physical septic through the release of stress hormones. In everyday life, whenever we think of an old hurt, we release negative energy in the body in the form of stress hormones. The more we think of our past problems, the more we spread poison in our body.
.Ideally, an emotional hurt would be healed by learning of soul lessons but a calming technique is to regulate breathing rates by dancing, exercises , or meditation.
            ......................
The emotional hurt is considered healed when the mind goes back to being in an equally or more positive a state than it was in before the emotional hurt made it negative. In other words, when the emotional hurt is healed, the soul frequency rises again to the level it was before it got blocked by the negative energy attack.
Physically regulating or normalizing the breathing rate subconsciously, through regulated exercise, dancing exercises and meditation is the same as shifting to a focus on positive feeling. By breathing in a regulated manner, we neutralize the impact of negative energy changes and release positive hormones in the body. Calming the breath is a signal to the subconscious or soul mind that the stress situation is gone and that the body’s normal balance can be restored.

Hence, slowing down the breathing rate is used as a therapeutic technique for calming down the agitated mind while raising the breathing rate therapeutically helps activate a depressed mind.
Meditation is recommended for healthy living because it helps in sending positive signals to the subconscious mind simply by regulating the breath rate. Doing meditation, dancing or remaining thoughtless, we silence our mind and focus on the body.  Focusing on the body while quietening the mind by observing one's breath go in and out help in lowering stress levels automatically. Deep breathing exercises also help in blocking continuous focus on negative thinking. Hence, meditation which calms the mind helps in balancing the breathing rate and thus, in improving stress tolerance of the body.
Like meditation, physical exercise or dancing helps in balancing the breath rate especially in a depressed state of mind. For the subconscious mind, the high breath rate achieved by physical exercise is a signal that the depressed physical body is regaining its health and vigour back.
Exercising is again a thoughtless state of being where one is ideally not thinking negative for the duration of the exercise. A non-negative state of mind signals to the soul that life is positive again and helps the soul raise its frequency from negative to positive. Therefore, a regular routine of exercise helps in maintaining good health.

HAPPINESS IS THE REALITY, UNHAPPINESS IS COMPROMISE WITH ILLUSION

The book CREATION OF HAPPINESS : THE ENERGY WAR,
A SOUL'S PERSPECTIVE,  explains why traditional approaches to happiness have failed and how happiness can be achieved by removing negative thinking from the core.

The following is an excerpt from Chapter 1 :

The mirage – illusion of the oasis

Since centuries, human beings have been trying to find a route to happiness by methods which are externally focused. We have been seeking to succeed in the external world, hoping we would find happiness with our efforts but usually, we get disillusioned because our vision of happiness turns out to be a mirage.
A mirage in a desert is an illusory picture of water. It gives travelers in the desert an indication that an oasis is nearby.

Similarly, our success gives us hope that happiness is nearby, but in  life, we keep finding mirages, not real water. The oasis of happiness seems to move further away inspite of passing one exam after another to meet the demands of traditional success. But,  following success or power or fame does not automatically lead to happiness.

As a human race, we have focused on technologically developing the tools of happiness, but we have not yet found how to develop happiness, per se. It is as if we are desperately trying to catch our nose from behind the head when it can be caught easily from the front.

From our soul’s perspective, we are taking unnecessarily challenging roads to happiness by seeking external success, money and power while grossly ignoring our soul needs of evolution.

Yet, empirical evidence proves that these traditional routes to success have failed in leading us into a happy world.
In spite of the technological kingdoms that our industrialists have created, we face the same jealousies, fears, betrayals and traumas as people did thousands of years back, for example, when Cleopatra was alive.

Kingdoms have largely been replaced by democracies and battlefields by boardrooms but the manipulative power games continue.
We seek to be successful managers, teachers or doctors without caring about whether the paths of success we pursue help us feel more content or compromised, within ourselves, as souls!
In the rat race to succeed, happiness is usually left far behind as we choose to be like rats running after cheese than peace, forgetting that we have evolved above being just animals.

As long as we stay limited to thinking that buying external objects of comfort and security would ensure our happiness, we would somewhere fail to evolve above our animal ancestors who were purely focused on the external gratification of their bodily needs.

Due to the empirical evidence available, we can’t blindly follow the methods of pursuing happiness which have been founded by our ancestors, because our history does not prove that humanity has led an emotionally successful existence. Instead of finding peace, health or happiness, with our comfort levels rising on the physical plane; our levels of stress, tension, loneliness, diseases and depressions have risen, over the centuries.

It may seem daunting to change our conventional methods of thinking. Yet,  the established route of finding happiness, focuses more on the negative, than on the positive, aspects of life. But, this focus on the negative aspect of life, i.e., on what is missing in comparison with another, virtually, reverses the process of reaching happiness, individually, or as a whole.

A shift of basic thinking towards focusing more on the positive aspects of life, than the negative, becomes necessary to reverse the damage on human thought which a war torn history, has already caused.

Human thought is influenced by habit and tradition. If we focus on the energy or feelings underlying our thoughts, we would realize that we have been thinking the same way over centuries , and repeatedly manifesting the same emotional experiences, though the external form of our world has changed.
Thus, swords were replaced by guns and horses by motorbikes but the underlying intentions still remain the same.
Our traditional role models have been war heroes who killed others to survive themselves. It may be noted here that on a practical plane, our role models are not our Gods. That is because we worship Gods but we do not try to be them. We place Gods on a pedestal of superiority, miracles and sacrifice and we ask them for blessings and gifts; while we try to be like our mortal war heroes who acquired fame, power and money in their competitive pursuits.

But, there is no account of whether these warriors became happier by appropriating greater wealth or fame in external terms. Or whether the wars they fought helped people become more emotionally equipped to fight their internal traumas and evolve as souls?
The money which came from wars was usually used in fighting more wars, than in upliftment of human consciousness towards better management of survival needs.
Emotional betterment was left to chance as we looked for happiness outside the mind.  Is it possible to be unhappy, sad or craving for love within and find happiness outside by eating or drinking? Can just pleasing the body make us happy when we are life-force creative particles in our essence?  If being animal  like was satisfying , why would we need  to evolve towards creating happiness, as souls in a physical experience ?

The ever increasing restlessness in societies, the rise in domestic violence, criminal tendencies, alcohol and drug addictions, medical bills and incurable diseases , prove that escaping the needs of soul evolution does not help. But, we are conditioned into believing that the soul does not exist, and that only earning money, fame or power matters in creating happiness.
Charles Darwin proposed the theory of Survival of the fittest for animals but human beings still operate on that principle, by habit, because they feel they have to win by being above others in terms of money, which essentially represents food and shelter.
The unconscious insecurity continues from the animal mind that for one to live, another has to die – be it physically, financially or emotionally. That is the basis of competitive thinking.

Yet,  being competitive has not led the human race towards higher levels of happiness, peace or ethereal positivity. To be happy, from within, as souls, we need to discover our humaneness as distinct from our animal instincts.

Hence, we probably need to change the definitions of success which we glorify as part of our mental conditioning from childhood. Because of social pressures, we train ourselves to compete with others, to be what everyone else is and that whole mind-set makes us compromise on our needs of soul evolution.
At an internal level, there are pangs of having failed even when we feel externally successful because we fail to achieve that happiness, which we incarnate to achieve, as souls.

Changing our core thinking to positive is not easy because we become habitual to sacrificing our soul needs to be happy , presuming happiness to be a compromise, as defined by traditional doctrines. Yet, each time we compromise because of fear of not having in the future, we focus on the negative aspects of life.

Initially, redirecting our thinking feels like relearning the alphabet .But, at some point, we need to realize that we cannot continue with the negative ways of thinking, simply because we are conditioned into them! Our method of coping up has not helped us since centuries of trial and error in finding the happiness we seek through our efforts.
That we have achieved a state of balance being the way we are, does not mean that we are in an optimum state of balance. Since, we feel more helpless, anxious and sick than healthy, happy and at peace on an average; it means that we are balancing ourselves in a non-optimal, negative state of being.

Generally, it is owing to beliefs embedded in mass consciousness and stored in the subconscious levels of our minds, that we tend to get misdirected. These beliefs overrule our individual sensibilities about what constitutes happiness.

This book aims to spread the soul’s concept of happiness by facilitating an understanding about what happiness means for each soul self, as contrasted with traditionally held mass beliefs of what happiness should mean.
By making attempts to know that which specifically resonates with our individual sensibilities, and contrasting it with the values conventional thinking and mass culture hold to be true, we arrive at the dynamics of an underlying internal language influencing our perceptions and expectations, as contrasted with an externally imposed language.
The intention is to develop awareness of the inner workings of the soul mind, so that it can help us remain positively expectant through the ups and downs of life.

As will be explained in the book, remaining positively expectant is critical to realize the feelings of happiness we seek to experience through our externally oriented efforts.
The thinking and assumptions embedded in mass consciousness will be deliberately challenged, leaving it up to each person to determine what holds true for them individually.

Each of us, while free to believe or discard any statements encountered in this book is actively encouraged to take note of personal imagery found to be associated with a meaningful and happy life. (For example, for one person the image of happiness may appear as realizing one’s talents while for another happiness may mean having a surfeit of consumer goods.)
In this process of developing awareness of one’s innate self, each one of us will be discovering what s/he truly believes in while closely examining the operative concepts and assumptions drawn from mass culture and conventional wisdom, which have been unconsciously followed.
As ‘each’ soul realizes individual happiness, we can contribute towards the creation of a happier world as a whole.
